Tehran, July 6, IRNA – President Hassan Rouhani said that eradication of poverty and resolving the social problems are the main goals of the economic prosperity in the country.

“The government is trying to eradicate poverty in the country,” President Rouhani said on Monday night, addressing a group of people in his iftar feast.

The Iranian president said that his government needs the people’s help in all sectors.

“The reason for repeating the phrase that inflation should be harnesses is because we want to help the people live better lives,” President Rouhani said.

The Iranian president assured the nation that sanctions have failed to prevent Iran's progress, and said despite being pressured by the western sanctions, the government has managed to prevent the growth of inflation and recession.
