TEHRAN, Jul. 01 (MNA) – On a phone conversation with Moroccan official, Iranian Deputy FM for Arab-African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian voiced pleasure with reopening of Iranian and Moroccan embassies.
Talking to Morocco's Minister Delegate to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Mbarka Bouaida, Amir-Abdollahian expressed his pleasure over the revival of Iran-Morroco ties.
The two sides also reviewed expansion of mutual political and economic cooperation and the latest regional developments.
Expressing satisfaction over boosting mutual ties, they said reopening of embassies would lead to expansion of political and economic relations between the two countries.
Relations between Iran and Morocco were severed in 2009 following a series of disputes on regional issues.
In a sign of improving relations, the Moroccan foreign minister invited Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif to attend the 20th meeting of the al-Quds Committee of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in January in Rabat.
