TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian national volleyball team's captain Saeid Marouf said Poland was able to put the country's team under pressure and had control of the match.
Iran lost to Poland 3-1 (23-25, 25-20, 25-20, 25-19) in Pool B in Tehran’s Azadi Hall on Sunday evening.
“First of all, I congratulate Poland. We saw one of the best matches in the World League with Poland," Marouf said in the post-match news conference.
"All I can say is they had control of the match in every set except the first."
“We were consistently under pressure. I think no more could be done. Poland is one of the world's best teams. All we tried was useless. We could have reduced the margin but we could not win,” he added.
