Tehran, June 26, IRNA – President Hassan Rouhani said the clerics shoulder heavy burden in safeguarding the Islamic revolution and system.
President Rouhani made the remarks during Iftar (fast breaking) ceremony attended by several Iranian clerics and Friday prayer leaders in Tehran Thursday evening.
'Today, more than ever, we need unity,' President Rouhani noted, reiterating that the clerics should create unity and hope in the society.
'Today we need moderation in the country and the region more than ever before to be able to introduce Islam, because many people, the oppressed Muslims in particular, in different parts of the region are looking up to the Islamic Iran,' he added.
President Rouhani further underscored that the establishment and implementation of the Islamic system is the long-standing desire of Muslims.
Iranian president concluded as saying that beside the rising wave of Islamophobia, unfortunately, a certain number of people are creating the wave of clericphobia and the clergymen shoulder heavier responsibility than in the past.
