The prime suspect in a spate of acid attacks that rattled the central city of Isfahan in 2014 has reportedly confessed to committing the crime.

A well-placed source said although the suspect who has displayed anti-female behavior has confessed, it is still too soon to definitively identify him as the acid attacker.
The source who wished not to be named further said additional investigation is underway. Earlier an attorney for the victims of the attacks had said a suspect is in custody.
