Tehran, June 21, The Iran Project – Afghan president hailed Iran’s supreme leader for his order to register all Afghan children in Iran’s schools regardless of their residency status.

Releasing a video message on the occasion of World Refugee Day, Afghan President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani thanked Iran’s Supreme Leader for his order not to deprive Afghan children from education, even undocumented or illegal ones.

Both sides agreed to establish a joint committee to study Afghan immigrant problems, Ashraf Ghani said in the message.

After the Supreme Leader’s order, registration of Afghan students in the Iranian schools has increased more than 10 percent.
