The head of the Environment Protection Organization has said the next parliament is expected to do more for and adopt a national policy on the environment.

Masoumeh Ebtekar further said that parliament has failed to get engaged in issues concerning the environment, adding the chamber is expected to play a more active role now that environmental crises are worsening.

She said government has a focus on environmental issues and parliament is working with us, but in some cases, Mother Nature has not been protected properly.
