TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling teams dedicated their trophies to the 175 martyr divers.
Iranian freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling teams claimed the title of the Asian Cadet Championship on Sunday.
In the competitions held in Delhi, India, Iran bagged seven medals, including two gold medals and five silvers, on the final day to finish in the first place.
Iran secured the top spot in the men's freestyle with 77 points, while India came second with 74 points. Uzbekistan settled for the third position with 59 points.
In the Greco-Roman, Iran bagged one gold, six silver medals and one bronze to win the title with 82 points. Kazakhstan came second with 65 points and Kyrgyzstan finished third bagging 63 points.
The teams dedicated their titles to the 175 martyr divers who were reportedly buried alive with their hands tied during the Iraqi imposed war on Iran in the 1980s.
