According to G7 Leaders’ Declaration released by the White House, Iran should work with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to verify the civilian nature of its nuclear program and resolve disagreements over inspection of the country’s military facilities.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) – Iran should work with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to verify the civilian nature of its nuclear program and resolve disagreements over inspection of the country’s military facilities, the G7 Leaders’ Declaration released by the White House on Monday said.

“We call on Iran to cooperate fully with the International Atomic Energy Agency on verification of Iran's nuclear activities and to address all outstanding issues, including those relating to possible military dimensions,” the declaration said.

G7 members — France, the United Kingdom, Italy, Germany, Japan, the United States and Canada — said they welcome the political understanding reached in the April 2015 preliminary agreement with Iran.

G7 leaders also urged Iran “to respect the human rights of its citizens and to contribute constructively to regional stability.”
Iran and the P5+1 group of world powers, comprising China, France, Russia, the United Kingdom, the United States and Germany, are working toward an end-of-June deadline to sign a final nuclear deal that ensures the peaceful nature of Tehran’s nuclear program.

In May 2015, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said that Tehran would not grant inspectors permission to examine the country’s military facilities or interrogate Iranian scientists.
