Kerman, May 31, IRNA – German Ambassador to Tehran Michael Freiherr von Ungern-Sternberg said on Sunday that Iran-Germany economic and cultural relations are very deeply rooted.
In a meeting with Kerman Governor General Alireza Razm Hosseini, he said 'I would like to visit the city of Bam as Germany contributed to the reconstruction of a hospital and a girl school in the city.'
He expressed the hope that the two countries would broaden cooperation in investment and commercialea sectors.
Germany is keen to broaden economic cooperation with Iran but hurdles such as economic sanctions have halted expansion of such relations.
All are optimistic about the results of nuclear talks between Iran and G5+1, he said.
Siemens company has already cooperated with MAPNA and in case the economic sanctions are lifted, such cooperation can be boosted, he said.
Germany was once Iran's first economic partner, he said.
Germany has a good record of activities in auto making and its after sale services and the German companies are satisfied with the contracts they have signed with Iran.
Germany attaches importance to Iranian culture and that is why the German people are eager to learn Persian language, he said.
