Judiciary to probe forest destruction

TEHRAN, May 28 (MNA) – Iran’s SIOI is to dispatch a high rank inspection envoy to the northern province of Gilan to scrutinize breaching of forest conservation.

Following the special decree issued by Iran’s Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Sadegh Amoli Larijani, the SIOI (State Inspectorate Organization of Iran) is to send a special delegation of its agriculture and environment department to the northern province of Gilan in the coming week.

The inspectors will scrutinize the involved organizations and offices in addition to conducting field investigations on the destruction of the rainforests and natural habitats.

During the period of investigation, the provincial office of SIOI in Gilan is open to public reports on the issue.

Upon completion, the report will be sent to the court for the legal procedure to be continued under a judge.
