Iran would be first country to help Riyadh if Saudi Arabia attacked: Official

12 May 2015 - 12:22

In case Saudi borders are violated, Iran would be the first country to rush to the aid of the Saudi people, Secretary of the Expediency Council Mohsen Rezaei said in an interview with Al-Mayadeen.

He further said Iran’s missile industry which is designed to prop up the country’s defenses won’t stop. “We will equip our armed forces with all weapons, except those which are banned internationally. Our arms are geared toward defending Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE and the rest of the Muslim world.”

Rezaei added those who portray Iran as a threat simply seek to sell weapons and set an arms race in motion.
