Envoy: Islamabad interested in establishment of a joint free zone

Anzali Port, April 26, IRNA – Pakistan's Ambassador to Iran Nur Mohammad Jadmani said on Sunday that Pakistan is willing to expand cooperation with Iran, including establishment of a joint free trade zone.




'The Establishment of a joint free trade zone in Chabahar can lead to expansion of economic cooperation,' said the Pakistani ambassador in a meeting with the managing director of Anzali Free Trade Zone.

He said that Islamabad is working to activate its free zones and believes it can be benefitted from Iran's experience in the field.

Jadmani said that Iran and Pakistan have religious and cultural affinities and long shared borders and Pakistan is therefore very eager for the expansion of comprehensive relations with Iran.

The Pakistani envoy referred to the privileges of Anzali Free Zone permit Pakistan to forward its textile fabrics through it to Azerbaijan Republic.

The Pakistani ambassador after his talks with the managing director of Anzali Free Zone (AFZ) visited Iranian Caspian Port under construction in the AFZ and the industrial townships in that free zone.
