Jakarta, April 23, IRNA – President Hassan Rouhani and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping, in a meeting in Jakarta on Thursday discussed issues of mutual interest.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the second day of a Summit meeting of Asian-African heads of state in the Indonesian capital.
During the meeting, the two presidents also exchanged views on the latest regional and international developments.
Rouhani and Xi underlined the need for further expansion of bilateral relations between Tehran and Beijing.
President Rouhani Referred to longstanding relations between the two countries, saying Iran and China share the same goals and mutual interests in the regional and international arena.
The Chinese president, for his part, pointed to his previous meeting with President Rouhani and said that these meetings have significantly influenced the relations between the two countries.
He underlined that his country attaches special significance to promotion of relations with Tehran.
