Tehran, April 20, IRNA – Senior member of the Iranian nuclear negotiations team Abbas Araqchi said it is easy to go on with the process of the talks with the 5+1 provided certain efforts underway to sabotage negotiations are foiled.
Talking in a gathering focusing on the recent Swiss Statement here on Monday, the senior official said he thought the new round of nuclear talks was easier than the previous ones.
That is quite easy to carry on with the talks now if certain hands at work to damage the process the negotiations at any cost are barred.
He referred to the US Congress bill as one case of such deterring factors and said it showed the Congress is trying to influence the process of talks.
If, as some are trying to put it, negotiations were detrimental to the Iranian nation, he said, then there was no need for the US Congress to make this sort of measures and insist that all agreements have to be ratified by it.
Similarly, 47 US senators would have felt no urge to write to the Iranian officials to caution them “not to get deceived by the talks.”
Thus, Araqchi stressed, things are not the way certain people are trying to interpret.
The foreign ministry official went on to stress that there is no agreement of any kind yet.
He said the Swiss Statement is just a bunch of proposed solutions which need to be written down in detail.
