TEHRAN (ISNA)- Iran, China and Russia plan to hold a security conference in the near future, said Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehghan.
“The conference can work effectively in removing common threats and settling region’s security problems” Dehghan said in a meeting with his Chinese counterpart Chang Wanquan on the sidelines of Moscow international security conference in Russia.
“We believe that the US will fail to materialize its ill-wishing plots for dominating and plundering regional countries in case of cooperation and convergence among regional countries,” he added.
Dehghan also expressed the hope that Iran and China could pave the way for boosting defense and military cooperation during Chang Wanquan’s upcoming visit to Iran.
Chang Wanquan, for his part, called for strengthening bilateral ties between Tehran and Beijing and said, “The world’s status quo necessitates that we bolster bilateral and multilateral defense and military cooperation.”
He also stressed implementation of defense cooperation between Iran and China.
