Tehran, April 9, IRNA – Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on Thursday deplored lack of border security, calling for enhancing Iran-Pakistan security cooperation to prevent recurrence of attacks on borderguards.
In a meeting with Chairman of Pakistan Senate Reza Rabbani, he said that Iran and Pakistan have excellent ties and that incidents happening off and then along borders are deplorable.
Rabbani, for his part, underlined expansion of parliamentary cooperation and using parliamentary diplomacy.
He congratulated Zarif on Iran's success in nuclear talks in Switzerland.
As to Yemen developments, Rabbani said that the situation in the country is worrisome and that's for the same reason a detailed discussion is underway in Pakistani Senate and Parliament.
Zarif arrived in Islamabad on an official two-day visit to Pakistan for talks with the country's officials.
