A deputy head of the Department of Environment (DOE) has said that the number of clean-air days is up 60 percent this year. Saeed Motesadi said that Tehran Province had 16 clean-air days, 233 healthy-air days and 116 unhealthy days last year [ending March 2015], whereas the numbers for the year before stood at three, 202 and 160 respectively.
He further said that the number of days in which people breathed in unhealthy air decreased to 116 from a previous 160 (30 percent), and the number of clean and healthy days increased more than 20 percent last year.
