The P5+1 countries have been negotiating with Iran to halt its uranium enrichment program, fearing Tehran is developing nuclear weapons under the guise of a civilian energy program.

LAUSANNE (Sputnik) — The Iran nuclear deal can be achieved if all negotiating sides show goodwill, the German Foreign Ministry said in a statement Wednesday.

"Progress is visible. Nothing is agreed but if there is goodwill on all sides, an agreement is possible," the statement said.

The statement added that talks were gridlocked on "some important questions last night."
