Tehran, March 31, IRNA – Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Marziyeh Afkham in a statement on Tuesday refuted accusations about Iran sending weapons to Yemen.




Afkham referred to those allegations as 'complete fabrications' and 'sheer lies.'

She stressed such claims 'will by no means justify recent attacks on Yemen.'

Iran has civil aviation agreement with Yemen and Tehran has dispatched aids and medicine to the war-torn region using its civil flights, the spokeswoman added.

Afkham underlined that Iran's Red Crescent Society is ready to help the injured Yemenis.

She also urged the international community, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in particular, to help the war torn region.

Moreover, Afkham called on international bodies to help prevent further foreign attack on Yemeni people.

Meanwhile, Head of Iran Red Crescent’s Relief and Rescue Organization Nasser Charkhsaz had earlier voiced readiness to dispatch aid and medicine to Yemen.

Expressing sympathy with the people of the Arab country, the official said his organization is determined to render services to Yemenis as long as it is necessary.

Charkhsaz also said that his organization is inclined to transfer the injured Yemenis to Iran for medical treatment.

Iran's Red Crescent Society has already sent a planeload of humanitarian aid and medicine to Yemen.

The 13-ton relief package of Iranian humanitarian aid is intended to help those recently been targeted by Saudi-led aggression on Yemen.
