TEHRAN, Mar. 18 (MNA) – Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman has said Iran has portrayed a totally different image in international arena basically due to ongoing talks over its nuclear program.
Speaking at her weekly press conference on Wednesday, Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Marzieh Afkham discussed on various issues, from nuclear talks to Israeli election and human rights accusations against Iran.

Nuclear talks was major part of her discussions during a press conference held on Wednesday in which she highlighted the progresses made in the course of nuclear talks ongoing in Lausanne.

Her comments came after Chairman of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran Ali Akbar Salehi, who is in Lausanne, said over 90 percent of the issues in the talks on Iran's peaceful nuclear program has been resolved.

According to Afkham several rounds of intensive and sensitive talks have been held by Salehi and US Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz.

Stressing that improvements have been made from technical aspects of the talks, she said, however, discussions on political issues will continue.

On the issue of human rights, she rejected the claims by Ahmad Shaheed accusing Iran of human rights violations.

“It has gone beyond just dealing with human rights which is being used as a political tool to impose pressure on Iran, because Iran attaches great significance to human rights,” Afkham stressed, adding that she hopes human rights issues would not be politicized.

Asked on Iran’s Foreign Ministry’s stance over Israeli’s upcoming elections, Afkham said Iran expects no change in Israel’s policies following the recent general elections as all the regime’s parties follow the same aggressive approach, saying that the Israeli parties all had an “aggressive nature.”

“The Israeli parties are the same and they are all accomplices in their crimes against the Palestinians and in their acts of aggression,” she added.
