TEHRAN (ISNA)- Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani would visit Kuwait on Monday for a two day visit.
“Mr. Larijani will head to Kuwait Monday evening to meet with Kuwaiti officials,” said Larijani’s Advisor Hassan Zamani.
He said Larijani would meet with Kuwaiti Parliament Speaker Marzouk al-Ghanem and some officials of the country.
Early in January, Iranian Economy Minister Ali Tayyebnia and Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber al-Mubarak al-Hamad al-Sabah in a meeting in Kuwait City underlined the need for the further expansion of mutual cooperation,
particularly in economic fields.
The Iranian economy minister pointed to the recent visit of the Kuwait Emir to Tehran, and said the visit left significant impacts on the expansion of mutual cooperation.
Tayyebnia called for implementation of the agreements already signed between the two countries.
He noted that Iran is ready to broaden economic cooperation with Kuwait and exchange views with the senior Kuwaiti officials on ways to enhance the level of ties on mutual interests.
"The Iranian government is keen on developing ties with the neighboring states and Kuwait, in particular, as there is no obstacle in the way of bolstering economic cooperation," he added.
Iran and Kuwait have sought to expand bilateral ties through exchanging several high-ranking delegations in the last few years.
