Navy commander arrives in Kazakhstan

Tehran, March 2, IRNA - Navy Commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari heading a military delegation arrived in Kazakhstan on Sunday.

While in Kazakhstan, the Iranian commander is to confer with his Kazakh counterpart Zhandarbek Zhanzakov, Defense Minister Imangali Tasmagambetov as well as several military officials on issues of mutual interest and bilateral cooperation.


Sayyari is also set to inspect ship building industries in Kazakhstan and other military facilities of the country.

Zhanzakov leading a military delegation visited Iran last year and conferred with his Iranian counterpart.

Kazakhstan is the world's largest landlocked country by land area and the ninth largest country in the world.

It has borders with Russia, China, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan, and also adjoins a large coastline of the Caspian Sea where it shares the basin with Iran.
