TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Morteza Sarmadi said that the Palestinian resistance movement against Israel has entered a new phase in which most of regional nations and even world states have a common stance against Tel Aviv.
The senior Iranian diplomat said the Palestinian cause has turned into a common cause among the world nations, adding that the developments have brought positive outcomes for the Palestinian issue too.
“At present however the nation considers it as a duty to keep the track and believes its struggle is a legitimate, human one,” Sarmadi added, referring to the Palestinian nation’s Islamic struggle.
Earlier this month, Political Leader of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement Abdullah Shami said that recent victories of the regional resistance movements against the Israeli Army is mainly indebted to Iran's full support for freedom seekers in the Middle-East.
Speaking to the Quds News Agency on the occasion of the 36th anniversary of victory of Iran's Islamic revolution in 1979, the prominent Palestinian figure said thanks to the Islamic Revolution of Iran, military know-how including rocket making technology was acquired by the Palestinian groups, which had a large impact on the Zionist regime's stance especially during the recent war on Gaza.
Shami said the 1979 revolution helped the regional nations to pick the attitude of combat against occupiers, especially against the occupying Zionist regime.
The Islamic Jihad leader said also a call by Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei for arming the Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, saying the call further enhanced hope among the Palestinian groups.
In November, Ayatollah Khamenei reiterated Iran's continued support for the Palestinian nation, and said arming the West Bank is necessary for confronting the Zionist regime.
"The Iranian nation and youth support the Palestinian people from the bottom of their hearts and love fighting the Zionists," Ayatollah Khamenei said, addressing the political and religious figures participating in the 'International Congress on Takfiri Streams in the Eyes of the Islamic Ulema' in Tehran.
"Thanks God, the Islamic Republic of Iran has not been entangled in religious boundaries and differences and as it helps the Shiite Hezbollah in Lebanon, it provides assistance to Hamas, Islamic Jihad and other Sunni groups in Palestine and will continue this assistance," he added.
Ayatollah Khamenei described strengthening the Palestinian brothers in Gaza as an instance of Iran's assistance to the Palestinian people, and stressed, "As we have announced earlier, the West Bank should be armed and ready for defending itself and this will certainly happen."
