Berlin, Feb 23, IRNA -- A leading German lawmaker of the co-ruling Social Democratic Party (SPD) lashed out at the prime minister of the Zionist regime, Benjamin Netanyahu for his anti-Iran tirades aimed at torpedoing a nuclear deal.

Talking to the Deutschlandfunk radio station, the deputy head of the SPD parliamentary faction, Rolf Muetzenich lambasted Netanyahu for opposing the nuclear negotiations between Iran and the E3 plus 3 (US, Russia, China, Britain, France and Germany).

Netanyahu has to understand that the Iranian nuclear conflict can only be resolved through diplomatic means, Muetzenich reiterated.

That's why bilateral talks between the US and Iran make sense despite Israel's ongoing criticism, the senior Social Democratic legislator made clear.

Muetzenich dismissed Netanyahu's accusations towards Iran, saying Tehran was also interested in regional stability.

He cited Iran's fight against Daesh as an example of its interest in a stable region.

Muetzenich said there were good prospects for reaching a political framework agreement on the nuclear issue by the end of next month.
