TEHRAN (ISNA)- Iranian New Ambassador to the UN Gholamali Khoshroo called for serious and compressive fight against terrorism.

“We are against those (countries) which use terrorists for political purposes and to create unrest in other countries,” he said after submitting his credentials to the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.

He also highlighted the Islamic Republic of Iran’s fundamental position in fighting terrorism, and said, “We condemn terrorism in any form.”

He also said western countries need to find roots of terrorism and understand tools for battling terrorism and oppose the phenomenon seriously and fundamentally the same as the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Extremism, terrorism, arms race, foreign meddling, sanctions and international pressures are making unrest in the world, khoshroo said, “Our aim in the UN is to cooperate to end the causes of instability.”
