Senior MP urges Foreign Ministry to summon German Ambassador

27 Jan 2015 - 15:34

Tehran, Jan 27, IRNA – Majlis First Vice-Speaker Mohammad Hassan Abutorabifard on Tuesday called on Foreign Ministry to summon German ambassador to Tehran for explaining about recent comments made by a visiting German official on Iran’s internal affairs.
The Iranian MP made the call in reaction to the statements made by visiting Bundestag Vice President Claudia Roth in a meeting with Chairman of Iranian Hope Foundation. Her words were considered as an instance of interfering in the internal affairs of the country.
Aboutorabifard called on Iranian authorities to take serious actions against the German lawmaker by summoning the country’s envoy to Foreign Ministry to be given giving necessary warnings.

The Vice-speaker made the call following warnings of a number of Majlis deputies who urged security and political officials to make necessary moves to prevent repetition of similar acts in the future.

The act of the German MP was against common international protocols observed by the two countries in their mutual relations, said the MPs critical of Roth statements.
