Islam has the right to protest: Larijani

26 Jan 2015 - 13:16

TEHRAN, Jan. 26 (MNA) – General Secretary of High Council for Human Rights in Iran’s Judiciary System while stressing that desecration of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) was not freedom of speech, said French people should know that Paris attack was the consequence of violent policies of the West.
Mohammad Javad Larijani, speaking at a local meeting in Amol, emphasized that insulting Muslims by French magazine and by means of desecration of their beloved Prophet cannot be considered as freedom of speech.

“What has happened really in Paris was a conspiracy to inflame the violence in the region,” he added.

“Islamic world was hurt severely and Muslims are deeply sorrowful as the most lovely figure of the world has been insulted,” the official said.

Larijani asserted that such terrorist attacks were committed by the wrongful youth of West, but were attributed to Muslims, "thus Islam has the right to cry loud on this injustice."

He concluded that “such efforts would lead to hatred among nations and islamophobia.”
