TEHRAN (ISNA)- Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani reiterated that Iran-Oman cooperation is playing a leading role in confronting terrorism.
“Iran-Oman ties should be developed to a higher level and the two sides has to act with more coordination on battling terrorism,” he said in a meeting with Omani Parliament Speaker Sheikh Khalid bin Hilal al-Mawali on the sidelines of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation member states (PUIC) conference in Turkey as lauding bilateral friendly ties between the two countries.
“This is the first gathering of Islamic countries after the insult to the Prophet of Islam. Muslims should give a clear message to the insult,” he said, as calling for Islamic countries’ interaction and cooperation to prevent any misuse by other countries.
Sheikh Khalid bin Hilal al-Mawali, for his part, called for strengthening bilateral economic and political ties between Iran and Oman.
He reiterated that Iran and Oman should hold more serious discussions on fighting extremism.
