Tehran, Jan 15, IRNA - Head of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali Akbar Salehi said on Thursday that the nation has taken positive steps in producing the disk, fiber, and semiconductor lasers.
Salehi made the remarks on the sidelines of the 2nd exhibition on Laser Science and Technology Achievements currenlty underway in Tehran.
He said that laser could widely be used for demining of the lands as well as blinding the enemy radars.

Bright future is awaiting Iran in laser sector, the AEOI chief added.

Speaking in a same event, Vice-Speaker of Majlis Hojjatoleslam Mohammad Hassan Abutorabi-Fard said progress of laser sector would lead to promotion of defensive, scientific and economic power of the country.

The 2nd exhibition on Laser Science and Technology Achievements opened in Tehran on Thursday.

The exhibition is also showcasing the latest findings in disk, fiber, and semiconductor lasers, along with a set of technological infrastructure for lasers in the fields of crystal growth, optics, mechanics, electricity and electronics, metallurgy and cooling.

The exhibition also features a section on nanotechnology, biophotonics, spectroscopy, and material processing.
