TEHRAN (FNA)- Jan Oberg, founder of the Swedish think-tank transnational.org, said Iran has left the door of nuclear negotiations open and is strongly committed to constructive dialogue, urging the West to be grateful and seize the opportunity for a win-win solution.
In an article released on Transnational Foundation for Peace and Future Research in early December 2014, Oberg wrote, "The West should be grateful to Iran for not having slammed the door at these last negotiations."

He further touched upon the seven-month extension on Iran's nuclear talks, and stressed, "These months should be used to shape and implement a new policy and reach an obvious win-win solution."

He further called on the West to make all-out efforts to lay aside differences during the seven-month period and play a more positive role in reaching an agreement with Iran.

Jan Oberg further said in his article that Iran could be a great venue for the promotion of dialogue among the world nations in the Middle East, and added, "Iran could become the Switzerland of the Middle East, a meeting place among cultures. Contrary to most, Iran has not invaded anybody for more than 250 years. It is as different in this region as Switzerland in its."

The latest round of talks between Tehran and the G5+1 (the US, Britain, France, Russia and China plus Germany) was held in Geneva on December 15-17, 2014.

At the end of the 10th round of Iran-powers talks in Vienna in November, Tehran and the six countries agreed to extend negotiations until July 1, 2015, after they failed to reach an agreement on a number of key issues.
