TEHRAN (Tasnim) – An international conference on Muslim unity will be held in the Iranian capital city of Tehran next week.
Ayatollah Mohsen Araki, secretary general of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, told the Tasnim News Agency that the conference will be organized on January 7-9 concurrent with the Islamic Unity Week.
He said the conference will bring prominent Muslim figures together to discuss ways for confronting discord.
Ayatollah Araki expressed the hope that the international event will serve to enhance unity in the Muslim world.
The Islamic unity conference is an annual event that provides an opportunity for scholars to share views and review problems facing Muslims while presenting solutions.
The World Forum for Proximity, the organizer of the conference, is an international organization founded by Iran. Its main aim is to create more unity and solidarity among Muslims worldwide, regardless of their schools of thought.
