KERMAN, Dec. 24 (MNA) – Iran’s Ministry of Agriculture local official announced the export of Kerman Province’s agricultural crops to the Central Asia.
Pointing to the beginning of harvest season in southern Kerman, Islam Shahrokhi said farmers have begun onion harvest in 4300 hectares of land.
He said that the crop harvest and transport to the consumer markets will soon be implemented providing the onion required by major markets.
He emphasized the farmers should not sell their products to dealers. “There are stalls in Tehran vegetable markets for direct sales to consumers.”
He anticipated onion harvest would gradually continue to supply the domestic market until May. “In addition to meet the domestic needs, Kerman onion products are also exported to the Arab countries of the Persian Gulf, Iraq and the Middle East,” Shahrokhi added at the end.
