TEHRAN Dec 07 (Shana)--Tehran and Mexico City have sealed an agreement on expansion of cooperation on a range of fields including petroleum industry, said Alaeddin Boroujerdi, chairman of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Parliament.
Speaking upon his arrival from a 4-day Mexico visit marked as Iran's first parliamentary visit from Mexico since the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979, Boroujerdi said the two countries have also agreed to facilitate customs cooperation and bolster mutual investments.
During their stay in Mexico, the Iranian delegation met with numerous Mexican officials including Mexican Foreign Minister Jose Antonio Meade Kuribrena, said the MP.
"The ground is paved for enhancement of Iran-Mexico ties in various areas including the petroleum industry, and the two nations can establish good common grounds for cultural, economic, and commercial activities," said he.
He underlined last year's Tehran visit by head of the Mexican Senate’s Foreign Relations Committee Gabriela Cuevas Barrón, and said a 14-article MOU was drafted during last year's visit which was finalized in Mexico by Iranian and Mexican MPs.
