Foreign Ministry advises Iranian pilgrims of Imam Hussain

5 Dec 2014 - 12:48

Tehran, Dec 5, IRNA – Appreciating Iraq for giving free of charge visas to Iranian pilgrims, deputy foreign minister for Arab and African affairs advised the pilgrims to strictly heed the communiqués of the Arba’een Headquarters of Iranian Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization.
Hossein Amir Abdollahian added in an interview with IRNA that the enthusiasts of visiting the Iraqi holy sites should heed the limitations of the two countries’ land border facilities and the cold weather and refrain from moving towards the land passages without getting prior information about the intensity of the population that has gathered at those border regions.
“Despite the issuance of tens of thousands of border visas and intimate cooperation of the Iraqi provincial and central government officials, due to the massive parade on foot of those who love Karbala towards the border passages of Iran and Iraq, registering and transferring this volume of pilgrims in a short while is impossible and this has caused problems for Iranian citizens in border regions,” added Amir Abdollahian.

He, therefore, asked the Iranian pilgrims of Imam Hussain (PBUH) during the anniversary of the 40th day after his martyrdom (Arba’een) to heed the communiqués of the Arba’een Headquarters of Iranian Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization before attending the border regions.
