Tehran, Dec 5, IRNA – Chief of Staffs of Presidential Office Mohammad Nahavandian said here Thursday that the recent opening of Iran-Turkmenistan-Kazakhstan railway is the revival of the ancient Silk Road.
“Kazakhstan, for instance, is an exporter of metallic mine stones to Iran and connection of this railway provides a golden opportunity for that country to lower the price of its stone exports, while a part of iron stone processing can be done in Iran, creating more job opportunities,” he said.
He also referred to the establishment of Incheh Borun Free Zone (IBFZ) by the side of the route of the Iran-Turkmenistan-Kazakhstan railway that will boost the Iran-Turkmenistann-Kazakhstan trade transaction.

Iranian, Turkmen and Kazakh Presidents met and conferred in Inche Borun railway station on Wednesday in a landmark ceremony to celebrate putting into operation of joint railway networks.

President Hassan Rouhani and his counterparts from Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and from Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev visited a cultural, arts and handicrafts exhibition set up on the sidelines of the ceremony.

The three presidents also attended a joint news conference after the ceremony.
