TEHRAN, Nov. 30 (MNA) – Third Festival on National Literature and Literary Theory will be held on next February and will focus on Ferdowsi.
The third event will be hosted by Islamic Azad University, Zanjan Branch in close collaboration with National Iranian Ferdowsi Institute. “Academicians, university professors, and students may send their research works for the festival headquarters by February 9, to Imam Khomeini (RA) center, Faculty of Humanities in Islamic Azad University, Zanjan Branch. For more information, visit the university official website,” reads part of call for papers.
It also says that the festival will be focused on Ferdowsi’s Shahnameh (Epic of Kings) and the following subjects: Shahnameh and Literary Genres; Shahnameh and Narrative Theory; Shahnameh and Literary Schools; Shahnameh and Criticism of Aesthetics; Shahnameh and Linguistic Theories; Shahnameh and Symbolism and Mythology; Structuralism, Deconstruction, and Intertextuality and Shahnameh; Shahnameh and Semantic Theory; Psychological and Psycholinguistic Approaches to Shahnameh; Sociological Approaches and Sociologiy of Literature in Shahnameh; Shahnameh and Politics; Legal and Economic Studies in Shahnameh; Religious Beliefs, Ethics and Culture in Shahnameh; Shahnameh and Patriotism; Man, Human Identity in Shahnameh; Shahnameh and History; and, Shahnameh and Other Theories.
The papers should cover one of the above subjects and would include an abstract, and should be sent along with a CD containing the full text of the paper. The select papers will be published as a festival book by the Islamic Azad University.
