“The Last Days of Winter”, an Iranian documentary directed by Mehrdad Oskuii, has received a special mention at the Traces de Vies Documentary Film Festival in Clermont-Ferrand, France.
The film won the honor in the Regard Social section of the festival, which was held from November 26 to December 2.
“The Last Days of Winter” is about seven Iranian boys talking candidly about their lives in a youth detention center.
The French documentary “Etre là” by Régis Sauder won the Regard Social Prix of the festival.
“Dossier 332” by the French director Noëlle Pujol won the Grand Prix of the festival.
“The Last Days of Winter” has been acclaimed at several international events. It won the Prix de la compétition jeunesse at the Escales Documentaires in La-Rochelle, France in November 2012.
The documentary was also picked for the best doc award at the International Oriental Film Festival (FIFOG) in Geneva, Switzerland in May 2012.
