TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Zob Ahan of Isfahan fought back from 2-0 down to beat Esteghlal of Tehran in penalty shootout in Iran’s Hazfi Cup on Thursday evening.
Arash Borhani gave the visiting team a lead in the 7th minute and Esteghlal Iraqi midfielder Karrar Jassim extended the lead in the 22nd minute.
Just one minute later, Ghasem Dehnavi pulled a goal back and Masoud Hassanzadeh equalized the match in the 75th minute.
Zob Ahan won the shootout 3-0 after the game ended 2-2 following extra time.
The Isfahan-based team will have to play Persepolis in the semi-final in Tehran on December 5.
Persepolis football team has already defeated Golgohar 4-3 in penalty shootout on Thursday.
Elsewhere, Tractor Sazi suffered a 2-1 home defeat against Padideh and Naft beat Sanat Sari 5-3 in penalty shootout.
Padideh will host Naft in another semis in Mashhad.
