'Economy must be people-oriented'

Qazvin, Nov 25, IRNA – Advisor to the First Vice-President Rostam Qassemi said the economy should be people-oriented as people have the final say in the 'economy of resistance' model.
  Speaking at a session here on Monday afternoon, Qassemi said based on the 20-year Vision Plan the country should be the first power in the region in economic, scientific and technology fields which will be realized through the economy of resistance.
Stressing that economy is a top priority issue of the country, the official said productive economy far from reliance on oil revenues, support for national production, consumption management, justice-based, knowledge-based and progressive in management of energy resources are among characteristics of resistance economy.

He said Iran enjoys high capacity in mining sector and in the field of agriculture production it is among few countries enjoying good and four seasons climatic condition.

Qassemi referred to human sources as the best coefficient in realization of resistance economy and said the Iranian people are among the most intelligent and skilled people of the world, adding that such a capacity should be used optimally.

Underlining basic and fundamental changes in the economic structure of the country, the advisor said if the economy is placed in a sound direction with regard to the capacities available, economic situation of the country will be changed drastically.

Pointing to the production capacities he said increase of exports under the present economic condition is not applicable, adding that a great change should occur in the economic field.
