No need to US, Arab states’ permission for anti-terrorism campaign

15 Nov 2014 - 8:55

Morocco, Nov 15, IRNA – Iran does not need the permission of the United States, or the Arab countries for campaign against the terrorists, a former Iranian nuclear negotiator said here Friday.
“For campaign against the Takfiri terrorism, either in attire of the Al Qaeda, or the ISIS, or Al Nusra, Iran does not need the permission of the United States, or some Arab countries,” said Seyyed Hassan Mousavian in a conference titled “Surveying the Mediterranean Region Countries’ Developments”.
He reiterated that Iran knows no borders, nor any boundaries in its campaign against Daesh (the ISIS) and in the framework of an operational coalition with the Iraqi Army, Syria, the Kurdish Peshmerga, and the Lebanese Hezbollah, playing a key role in land campaign against the ISIS.

In response to some Arab officials’ comments who have argued that the US had invited Iran to participate in the international campaign against Daesh, the former Iranian Supreme National Security Council secretary said that the US presence in campaign against the ISIS can affect it negatively.

“That is because the ISIS leaders have in the name of campaign against the US and Israel enrolled more volunteers from the Arab countries,” he said, adding that campaign against imperialism and Zionism is considered Jihad in the Islamic world and has its supporters.

Mousavian said that the Arab countries of the region should end inviting the United States for more interventions in Middle East and the Islamic countries can start considering the establishment of a regional cooperation among the Islamic countries to encounter the existing challenges.

“In order to do that, it is better to establish an Islamic Military Force led by four regional powers, Iran, Egypt, Turkey and Saudi Arabia aimed at combating against extremism,” he emphasized.
