Tehran, Nov 9, IRNA - Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani here on Sunday condemned desecration of Al-Aqsa Mosque by the Zionist regime.

Addressing the open session of Majlis, Larijani called on all Islamic governments to become vigilance and not to remain indifferent in the face of Tel Aviv’s hideous acts. He also called for great efforts to defend the rights of the innocent Palestinian nation.

Last week, Israeli troops closed Al-Aqsa Mosque for the first time since 1967 and prevented the worshipers from accessing the holy site.

He said Majlis condemns the “inhuman act” of the Zionist regime and urges the international bodies, the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in particular, to stand up against the atrocities of this corrupt regime.

The Al-Aqsa compound, located in the Israeli-occupied Old City of Al-Quds, is a flashpoint holy Islamic site.
