Ardebil, Oct 31, IRNA – Iranian Ambassador to Baku Mohsen Paka’ien said in opening ceremony of Blesavar Passenger Border Terminal between Iran and Azerbaijan that President Hassan Rouhani will visit Azarabijan Republic by mid-November.
“The two countries’ presidents’ meeting in Davos World Economic Forum and President Ilham Aliyev’s visit of Iran have led to upgrading the level of bilateral ties, including the two countries economic relations,” said the Iranian envoy.
Stressing that no country in the world has as much commonalties as Republic of Iran with the Azerbaijan Republic, Paka’ien said that one of Tehran’s basic policies is expansion of relations with neighboring countries.
Announcing that some 3000 Azeri passengers pass through the Bilesavar Customs each day, the Iranian ambassador expressed certainty that the opening of Bilesavar Passenger Border Terminal will lead to evermore strengthening of the two nations’ relations and boosting of the border region’s economic conditions.
He said that some one million Azeri tourists visit Iran annually for tourism, pilgrimage, and health purposes.
Some 120 billion Rials (US $4mln) has been spent to construct the Passenger Hall of the Bilesavar Border Terminal of an Iranian township of the same name located at a 190-kilometer distance to the north of Iran’s Ardebil province.
