Tehran, Oct 30, IRNA – Head of Iran Veterinary Organization Mehdi Khalaj here on Wednesday said that authorized Iranian chicken meat exporter companies will be introduced to Russia soon.
Speaking to IRNA, Khalaj said according to a memorandum of understanding signed between officials of the two countries, good measures have been taken with regard to exchange of health information in the area of livestock and veterinary.
He put the country’s chicken production at 2 million tons and said currently Iran enjoys the facilities of exporting refrigerated fresh chicken meat to the neighboring countries.
Khalaj further remarked that Iranian authorized chicken meat exporting companies are ready to export their products within the special health frameworks and directives to the neighbors, including Russia.
The head of the Veterinary Organization said in an effort to produce healthy livestock products, the organization has full control over the production process, industrial slaughter houses and transportation, adding that meat products are in satisfactory condition.
At present, he added 288 authorized traditional and 66 industrial slaughter houses are active in the country and that industrial slaughter houses due to possessing modern equipment are ready to increase export of meat and chicken products to the neighboring countries.
Currently, an outstanding surplus amount of chicken meat is exported to Iraq, Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia.
