TEHRAN (Tasnim) – High-ranking diplomats from Iran and Belarus explored avenues for the enhancement of relations between the two nations, with both seeing a good prospect of the bilateral ties.
Heading a diplomatic delegation, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Asian and Pacific Affairs Ebrahim Rahimpour held a meeting with a number of Belarusian officials in Minsk on Monday.
In a meeting withian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makey, the Iranian official voiced satisfaction with the current status of Tehran-Minsk relations in the political, economic and cultural fields.
Makey, for his part, said Belarus attaches great significance to its ties with Iran, and called for a boost to the economic cooperation between the two nations.
Iran and Belarus have developed good relations in recent years, particularly in the economic and trade sectors and have signed a number of agreements to shore up bilateral cooperation.
In 2010, Iran inaugurated a large copper wire factory and the second phase of Samand car assembly line in Belarus.
