Tehran, Oct 23, IRNA – Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs Ali Tayyebnia said on Thursday that the Iranian and Qatari officials have decided to set up joint investment committee.
In a meeting with Qatari Minister for Economy and Trade Abdullah bin Jassim ath-Thani, Tayyebnia stressed the need to promote economic ties between the two countries.
Tayyebnia said that the level of economic and commercial ties failed to keep up with the excellent relations of the two countries.
He noted that the two countries have the potentials to multiply the current economic and commercial exchanges.
The minister called on the Qatari investors to participate in the Iranian development project, saying that Iranian companies are ready to get involved in implementing the Qatari development projects.
Ath-Thani, for his part, expressed dismay at the low level of commercial exchanges, saying that his country will use any opportunity to boost economic ties with Iran which is a friendly and brotherly country to Qatar.
