Tehran, Oct 14, IRNA – A senior Iranian official rejected a report by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) on reduced amount of Iran's wheat production.
Talking to IRNA on Wednesday, Deputy Minister of Agriculture Jihad Abbas Keshavarz said Iran's total wheat output during the past farming year not only has not experienced any drop but also has risen.
He said the country's wheat production has increased by 10 percent during the period.
He stressed that the FAO report on one-million-ton drop in Iran's grain production was covered by some Iranian press.
He said Iran produced about 10.2 million tons of wheat during the period.
