Judiciary chief raps Ahmed Shaheed for unfair report

12 Oct 2014 - 15:55

Tehran, Oct 12, IRNA - Judiciary Chief Sadeq Amoli Larijani on Sunday blasted the UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights in Iran, Ahmed Shaheed, for releasing an unjust report about human rights situation in the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Speaking in a local ceremony, he criticized Shaheed's methodology of compiling report and said that the UN human rights council's representative is pursuing political agenda.
The judiciary chief made clear that Shaheed's accusations about violation of human rights in Iran are politically motivated, unfair and nontechnical.

His reports are one-sided, unrealistic and have been compiled without paying attention to the regulations the represenative of Human Rights Council must respect by refusal to bring charges which lack the necessary legal basis, he noted.

Iranian officials have said before that Ahmed Shaheed has only parroted the unfounded allegations fabricated by counter-revolutionay elements against Iran.
