Bandar Abbas, Hormuzgan Prov., Oct 9, IRNA – In an effort to increase safety potential of Bandar Abbas Oil Refining Company under emergencies a fund of 35 billion rials was financed for the purpose during the past year.
Khavar Sangari, head of the safety, health and environment of Bandar Abbas Oil Refining Company underlined the importance of readiness of the workforce under emergency situations and said to this end the staff of the company has received 29,016 person-hour safety training in the first half of the current calendar year (started March 21).
Pointing to the importance of safety in industry, Sangari said in oil industry, particularly in refining companies, it is believed that any costs in the area of building safety culture is profitable investment rather than costs.
“Such investments, in addition to protecting health of people and national assets, prepare the ground for living in welfare of future generations.”
Stressing the specific sensitivity of Bandar Abbas Oil Refining Company for observing environmental standards, he said the company has been proposed to the Department of Environment (DoE) for being excluded from the list of pollutant industries.
