TEHRAN, Oct. 06 (MNA) – 34 Iranian artworks will go on sale at Bonhams auctions sales in London tomorrow.
Bonhams auctions sales in London includes 83 contemporary works from the Middle East, 34 of which are from Iran.
Bonhams' Middle East auction will feature works from Iran, Egypt, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Sudan, Algeria, Turkey and Morocco on October 7 in London. Iranian works have the highest share among works on sale.
34 works from Iran, 23 from Egypt, 10 from Iraq, 8 from Syria, 4 from Lebanon, and one from each of the countries Turkey, Algeria, Jordan and Morocco in the forms of paintings, photos, sculpture and architectural aesthetic will go under the hammer during this auction.
Among the auctioned works, two Iranian ones have the highest initial estimated prices: A painting by Sohrab Sepehri, a leading Persian poet and painter (1928-1980) estimated at $120,000-170,000, and another work by Hossein Zenderoudi estimated at $130,000-200,000.
Both the front and the back of Bonhams’ catalogue feature works by Farhad Moshiri from his collection Pitchers.
Monir Farman-Farmayan, Farhad Moshiri, Reza Derakhshani, Aydin Aghdashloo, Farideh Lashaei and Abbas Kiarostami are among the other Iranian artists whose works will be sold at the auction.
The last year edition of Bonhams Middle East auctions took place in Apri 2014 and achieved a 700,000-pound sale for Iranian artists with ten sales of over 20,000 pounds for Iranian artworks.
